Gettin' me some steak. This is the payoff for eating 6 cupcakes.

For the black tie event.

Not your typical party with co-workers, but I guess eating halibut and spinach en croute and roasted chicken breast with smoked tomatoes, mushrooms, and capers will do. If you can't tell by now, I am always all about the food.

P.S. The food at the Emmy's seemed weak compared to Mark and Kate's wedding. I will forever be demanding a fruit and cheese course.

Bangles.
I gave Avery and Zina lahngas with matching bangles from India. Zina especially loves her bangles and walks around jingling them, jumping up and down. She shows them off by saying, "Yes, my bagels..." which is the closest she can come to saying the word bangles with her current stuffy nose.

Avery appreciates hers as well, but shows it by bending them so the look more like bobby pins than bracelets.

Lara's room makeover. Design on a Dime has nothing on us.

Before #1.

Before #2. I didn't take a picture soon enough to show the floral bedspread, wallpaper border, the dust collectors, and things that had been sitting in this room for over 10 years.

After #1. A dark chocolate brown accent wall and new bedcover from Ikea.

After #2. Pendant lights.

After #3. A satisfied Lara who liked her room so much she slept in there with the paint fumes.

Braving the tough parks of Oakland, CA.
Wedding crasher #2

Kate and Mark dance off stage in the dénouement of their wedding. But there was actually more to come...

The wedding remains after we moved inside the wedding tent to begin our feast.

During the course of the day I ate the following at this wedding:

Tuna Tartare on Cucumber Rounds
Smoked Bacon and Caramelized Shallot Tartlets topped with Goat Cheese
Vietnamese Summer Rolls with Peanut Dipping Sauce
Cheese Puff Pastries
Artisan Breads with Oil, Vinegar and Butter
Minted Sweet Pea Soup Drizzled with Creme Fraiche
Crab and Lobster Salad on a Bed of Butter Lettuce and Aioli
Lemon Granita Roasted Free Range Chicken
Wild Mushroom and Pinot Noir Sauce
Puree of Yukon Gold Potatoes
Chanterelle Mushrooms and Caramelized Shallots
Cheese Cake
Decadence Chocolate Cake
Cranberry Walnut Bread and Assorted Fruits
Fromage D' Affinoi's
Abbayo de Belloc
St. Agar

I am going to make a habit of crashing weddings so I can be cultured and well fed.
Wedding crasher # 1

A victorian wedding. Congratulations Chris and Jane.

The fox hunt paintings were my favorite of the decor.
Bike ride to Pike Place on the only sunny spring day in Seattle.

There is nothing better than a cheese festival at the market and the opportunity to eat free cheese all day.

Free hugs are also pretty great. At least mine was.
One girl. 3 slices of pizza. 6 cupcakes.

I am not a lover of frosting and sprinkles, but a challenge is a challenge.

If you spend a couple of months in India, you will think you want to eat six cupcakes too. I was wishing I had another slice of pizza to eat afterwards but it was all gone. I am supposed to get steak as my reward. Hey, friends, remember....

I am home from my fabulous trip to India, missing the people and the food. I will continue to post a few more India photos on occasion on my India blog at http://indiaspring.blogspot.com.
